• Extends until August 26th

Italy

• The peak is shorter
• June 1st until July 22nd

France

• Not a huge peak
• 2 peaks
• End of June + End of July

WHAT ARE BIG BRANDS DOING

“When do the summer sales start?

There’s no set date for the start of the summer sales, and each retailer will have its own start date. However, previous years have shown us that mid-June is when discounts start to be seen, with sales peaking at the end of June and beginning of July. For the end of summer sales, the end of August is a good time to start snapping up late bargains!”

Simplified,

June 20th = Start

Peak until the end of July

Use August for last squeezing

TIP: Let the big brands do the heavy lifting. Let them build awareness, and you start right after.

It’s NOT smart to wait until August to start.

(there’s a difference between fashion and other niches, we’ll see in a bit)

Last, Holidays

Another reason for August being weaker than June and July is… Holidays.

“If I’m not home, why am I going to order?”

And most of the work holidays happen in August.

So again, it’s best not to start the campaign in August.
