Ad set “before/after acne”
- Iterations can go inside AND get ad spend
Ad Account Structure
- *Assuming that I have >5 winning ads
- ABO Testing → For specific tests
- CBO Evergreen (Test + Scale)
- CBO with a Manual Bid
- RETARGETING + RETENTION
- Branding / Awareness
Another example:
The 3rd ad set looks good, nothing to work on.
I have to work on the evergreen videos:
- If ad set ROAS is good, I don’t care that the top spending ad has bad ROAS , but if ad set ROAS is 1.5, I have to turn off the top spender
- Wait 2 days for the budget redistribution, if it still doesn’t work, I will add a new ad set, min spend 10% and test a new concept
The advantage of this strategy is that I can test and scale at the same time.
- Top performing ad sets will monopolize the budget (good)
- While a new ad set will get 10% of the spend (min spend, forced) and usually not more than that. If they work well, they will stay in the campaign.
- If you end up having 7 ad sets, you will need to remove the “min 10% spend” on the old ad sets because you can’t force 70% of the CBO spend
- 7 ad sets at 5% min spend (35%)
- Start with 3 ad sets → 10% (total 30%)
- 10 active ad sets
- RULE: don’t force more than 40% of the CBO budget
Example:
What about ABO Testing? Only when it’s justified,
- The 2 selected ad sets have 7-20 ads inside
- But the AI VSL is just 1 ad
- The AI Cartoon is just 1 ad → I don’t have enough ads to justify creating a new ad set in the CBO with the idea of scaling. It’s something completely new, and I want feedback in 4 days.
- Does Meta like it? CPM? CTR? Comments? …
Incremental Attribution
As you know, I did the conversion lift study with Meta.
Spent around €120k,
- Cell A (group of 5 campaigns): Inc Attr. turned OFF
- Cell B (group of 5 campaigns): Inc Attr. turned ON
- The 2 cells don’t OVERLAP at all
Conclusion:
- IA does not spend more money on new audiences
- IA does not increase new audience ROAS
- IA does not increase “IA ROAS" compared to IA OFF
